Papertrey Pals Challenge #2

Our second Papertrey Pals challenge has been issued.  Liz D issued a ValenPallenge - we were to create any project that incorporated Valentine's & Sewing.  I love the look of sewing on cards but don't have a machine.  Instead,  I pierced the paper to make faux stitching.  This card was made for my DH.

First,  I embossed the background in a flourish pattern.  The heart is a glitter cardstock that is off set with a hand made black paper.  I peirced the flourish in red to expose the more mustard cardstock underneath. On the inside, to hide the stitching, I tore the black paper to create a jagged edge and then covered it with a torn strip of red.

Happily Ever Crafter #3 & Papertrey Feb Count Down Day 13

Hi all!  Today was a fun crafting day.  I had a Guest Star Stamper in my "studio" - my darling daughter!  She chose the theme, punched, cut, colored and sparkled.  We made a tag team card that does double duty on two challenges.

Our first challenge comes from Ted at Happily Ever Crafter.  We were to create a project using only shades of green.  This was more difficult then I thought it would be but fun at the same time.  Especially since green is my favorite color!

The inside of this card fulfills the contest requirements for the Papertrey Ink anniversary countdown embellishment contest.  Nicole challenged us to design our own floral embellishments (not sure if clovers count as floral but I let my daughter pick so we went with it!).  After the embellishments were made, we created a card using it AND one acetate sheet of 4-6 of the embellishments to send to/share with a special stamping friend!  This was such a fun card to make and I would never have thought make a gift out of my card.

PTI day 7 contest

Papertrey Ink is having their 3rd Anniversary countdown which is full of contests and GREAT prizes. Today they are the sponsoring the sketch at CPS and all participants are challenged to use the layout to create a project. I decided to work on a Birthday card for my daughter to use for her bff. I got the Birthday graphic from Beth Siaika at Freckled and Fun. It is whimsical and just what I was looking for. I used stickles around the outside edge and a gelly roll pen to add sparkle to the candle. Hope you all enjoy looking.
