Papertrey Pals Challenge

Papertrey Pals challenge #1 is underway. Our mission is to create a paper project that incorporates the letters P.A.L in some form. The goal is to be creative - anything goes. For my submission I altered a metal stand from the dollar spot at Target. I covered the back with paper and then created elements that are held on with magnets. The letters were covered with paper glaze to give them some dimension and I added a little bling to the heart. I hope I have inspired you to be creative.

Valentine Teacher Gifts

Hi All! I spent some time this weekend getting ready for Valentine's Day. These clear boxes are recycled packaging from my Papertrey Ink stamp sets. They are approx. 6x6x1 with a fold down top. I have seen examples of these filled with peanut butter cups, kisses & nuggets. I found that they hold ten Nestle 100 Grand bars perfectly hence the "Thanks a million" sentiment. I think the teachers will get a kick out of the play on words. Each candy bar is wrapped with a simple 3 x 4 decorated piece of cardstock.

Hope these are an inspiration ~ MamaReebs

The kraft paper behind the candy is the back of packaging.

Stamps: Stampendous Love Buds, SU Happy Hearts, Papertrey Ink Teacher's Apple & Polka Dot Basics II
Ink: Versamark Dazzle & Versafine Black, SU Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red, Certainly Celery

My first post

Well, I took the plunge and started a blog! For my first post I thought I would share the story of how I named it. I was struggling with creating a name. I kept trying to come up with a catchy phrase that incorporated a craft item but nothing was working. Then my new brilliant, creative friend Ted http://www.happilyevercrafter.com/ gave me some advice. He told me to think about my passions and use it in the name. My two great passions are family and crafting. I know you are all scratching your heads wondering what Toast & Jelly have to do with those two things but they are very connected. My Aunt introduced me to stamping and I fell in love with it. After I had my daughter (and felt like I would never be part of the grown up table again :) we formed a group of stampin' buddies that would converge upon her house for some late night crafting. Without fail we would end up snacking on toast and jelly!! I can't eat it without thinking about all the good times we shared. With this blog I hope to expand my group of stampin' buddies and create a warm, supportive environment to showcase my artwork.
