CPS sketch 159

Happy Friday!  I hope everyone had a great week.

Today I played along with this weeks CPS challenge.    I love that every week there is a new sketch to be inspired by and some great prizes!  I used some of my new goodies from this Papertrey Ink release - Yeah!  I had so much fun playing with the Year of  flowers: Daffodils set.

For the base I used a cream card stock antiqued with PTI Vintage Touch  inks.  The second layer is an amethyst paper from Deja Views Fresh Prints.  Next, I stamped PTI Tin Types (Pinefeather Press by Heather Nichols) in Versamark Dazzle to create a soft background pattern and then added some distressing around the edges.  The sentiment comes from PTI  Life  (Poppy Prints by Lisa Johnson) and is highlighted by cream hardware from Stampin' Up.

I hope you enjoyed my bit of spring.  Also, this is my second post for the day.  Below is a case by my DD if you care to take a look.
Have a great weekend and

Sophie's first case!

Today I have a post from my DD Sophie.  She surprised me by casing the Easter bunny card pictured at the left.  She went through the scrap pile a found everything she needed  (Good Girl!!).  I think she did a fabulous job so I thought I would share!

Blog hop & Poppy Seed Challenge

Tonight I am participating in the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  This month is all about BUTTONS.  I decided to make some Easter tags and I followed the format given by Lisa Johnson for her Poppy Seed challenge 2.

I love all the elements we were to incorporate.  Light Moss looks good with everything!

The little bunny is from a Stampendous set called Luv Bunnies.  I colored a few key parts of her with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen for sparkle and added just a touch of color to the Easter Egg.   I stamped Polka Dot Basics II from PTI with Versamark Dazzle to create the background and then added a scrap of plaid at the bottom.  The buttons are PTI Vintage Spring Mix & Holiday Mix.  All are adhered with glue dots excepted for the last blue one.  I used Rustic Cream Button Twine for some added dimension and tied it on.

On the back you can see a simple sentiment highlighted by the Rustic twine and one more button.  Hope you are inspired to "get your Easter on" or to check out all the amazing artists participating in the blog hop.

Pals & Peeps Challenge

Over at the Papertrey Pals our 5th challenge has been issued by Liz.  It is to create a one layer card.  For me, creating a simple card is so difficult!  As I was working on my submission, I decided to play along with the Papertrey Peeps next challenge too.  I needed to case a card created by Nichole Heady for one of the last two Papertrey Ink releases.  The card I chose uses the Asian Fusion set which I switched to Studio Style.

I love the clean, simple lines with a pop of color.

For a little thank you gift I filled the inside with Studio Style embellishments attached to an acetate sheet.   I left some extra room around the ribbon spool and button jar so they would be easier to color.

CRAFTy Easter Challenge

Hi all!  Hope you are having a great weekend.  Today I am posting a card  made for a challenge issued by Ted at Happily Ever Crafter.    The guidelines are to make an Easter project that incorporates elements which spell out C-R-A-F-T.

My elements are . . .
C-cardstock  R-rabbit  A-Almost Amethyst   F-flowers   T-twinkles
Ok, twinkles might be stretching it a bit but I think Ted will still let me participate :)

For the layout I cased a past CPS sketch.  There are three types of glitter elements.  The yellow and blue are cut from a glitter stack.  The bunny is outlined with the clear star Sakura gelly roll pen.  The amethyst color is glitter applied to a strip of scor tape.  I love this technique.  It is simple and adds a big punch.

Hope you are inspired to stop by Happily Ever Crafter and play along.

Pals Challenge 4

Jessica, one of the Papertrey Pals has issued our 4th Challenge. You can see the card sketch by clicking the pals link.  Below I created a "get your craft on card".

For the images I used two new Papertrey Ink  sets that I just adore!  The background stamps are from the versatile  Dot Spot

The sentiment and button jar come from Studio Style which is part of the playful & modern Raspberry Suite collection designed by Dawn McVey.  I used paper glaze on the jar to add some dimension and shine.  This is such a fun set to use!

Hope you enjoyed todays post and found some inspiration!

Pals Challenge 3

Since my last post, I issued the third Papertrey Pals challenge.  I asked everyone to find one of their older projects and rethink it.  What would they change now that they have become better stampers.  Below is my inspiration - one of my first cards.

This card was fun to make over.  I love the fairy stamp and coloring can be good for the soul!  This time around I added some dimension to the card by utilizing pattern paper and my spellbinder dies.

I added a little bling to the fairy with a Sakura Gel Pen after coloring her in with markers and colored pencils.  The patterned paper & yellow strip are from a glitter mat stack.

I hope you all enjoyed your journey to the past and found some new appreciation for the growth you have made with your art.
